We noticed a difference in the electron cooler high voltage:

The set voltage is ~205 kV, the Ohmlabs divider measures 207 kV and the PTB200 shows a value of ~212 kV. The latter is doing some crazy jumps of up to 10 kV, see screenshot. The Ohmlabs divider is stable

Maybe some small discharges?

We checked the strange behavior of the HV dividers again. The Ohmlabs and the PTB divider are in good agreement at 120 kV and 150 kV. There, both dividers deviated by 0.35% from the value on the HKR multimeter. Ohmlabs divider yields higher voltage.

At higher voltages (180 kV, 195 kV and 205 kV) the PTB divider showed jumps. The deviation between Ohmlabs divider and set value increased at higher voltages up to 2 %.  Ohmlabs divider was fluctuating at 10 V scale but center was stable.

We removed the PTB divider.

Afterwards, the fluctuation of the Ohmlabs divider are at the 1 V level. Deviation between Ohmlabs divider and set value is now 0.35 % at 205 kV. Same as in the low voltage range with the well-working PTB divider.

Due to some code changes (PMT over wavelength historgram) Kristian and I backuped a working Go4 code in the current go4 folder on the atplaser linux account. 
It can be found in the subfolder "working go4 code 4.4.2020"

Nevertheless, the "normal" Go4 code in the th22 folder still works.

How to start go4?:

- go to console
- change directory to '/u/atplaser/go4/th22' by typing 'cd /u/atplaser/go4/th22' in the command prompt
- [OPTIONAL]: If go4 has not been started from this shell before type '. go4login64.sh'
- go4 &
- click on Launch analysis (see picture go4_1)
- click OK on the first pop-up window
- to get current data stream: enter event source: "MBS STREAM SERVER" and name: "r4l-41" (see picture go4_2), Click Submit+Start
- to analyze old data: select old .lmd file
- click on icon with three green arrows (see picture go4_3)
- click on Analysis -> Histograms -> Step2_Anl. Relevant data can be found under: "Trending" or "TDC"





if ESR bunch frequency has changed:

- open /u/atplaser/go4/th22/TLdaAnlProc.cxx in Geany (if not already opened)
- in line 490 change variable periodInBins to current frequency (frequency in e6 between /)
- close go4 and go to console
- make clean
- make all
- reopen go4 again

Using all numbers, the difference between the center of the photodiodes and PMT middle is
given by 245ns, which corresponds to the half revolution period of 256 ns. Difference between the
center of both photodiodes and particle detector south is given by 105 ns.
The delay for the laser trigger is now set correctly.

We are now taking a Schotty spectrum with the NTCAP DAQ

The ESR is "blue" again. 

The errors (scu related) have been fixed. 

In principle, normal operation should be possible. 

After the morning meeting Regina will return to the main control room.

Regina noticed that the ESR was "red" 

This means that there are some errors. 

She found:

and some correction elements were off

Regina would like to know since WHEN this is the case. 

In general, such errors affect the ion beam trajectory ! 

Regina will try to find out more details on how this may have shifted the orbit.

The dye laser offers different scan settings (see pages 65 - 67 of the user manual). We are using the following setting, see attached screenshot, to produce the status "laser busy" for the DAQ.



This Output Trigger CH1 is then strobed coincidence with the 1 MHz clock.

I have prepared a new dye solution of DCM in Ethanol and DMSO (1:1). The concentration of the "oscillator + preamplifier" is 0,3 g/l. The concentration of the "main amplifier" is 0,0375 g/l or "1/8" the concentration of the "oscillator".

Using 500 mJ pump energy (@ 532 nm) I get 120 mJ ouf of the dye laser (@ 640 nm). After the Frequency Conversion Unit I get 32 mJ (@ 320 nm).

Because the Biochemielabor will be not accessible during the first days of the Thorium beamtime, I have prepared enough reservoir for 7 days (assuming the laser system will run 24/7).
